Shocking: Pre-Teen Expelled From Secondary School for Attempting to Poison Co-Pupil with Acid


A junior secondary school 1 pupil of Lekki British International School, Lekki, Lagos has been expelled for allegedly putting sulphuric acid and ethanol in the water bottle of his classmate!

The 12-year old is reported to have carried out the shocking act because he was furious that his 11-year old female classmate had beaten him to the first position in their first and second term examinations.

The incident happened around 1.30pm on Wednesday, June 4, but has only just come to light.

The school was planning for the third term examinations when the 12-year old allegedly sneaked into the school’s laboratory and stole the acid and ethanol.

He was said to have mixed the chemicals and poured them into the 11-year old’s water bottle.

Danger was averted when two pupils of the school reportedly caught him in the act and reported to the school authorities. He allegedly owned up to his act, saying that he had been planning it for some time.


A member of the 11-year old’s family said on Wednesday that despite the cuprit’s confession, the school allowed him to sit for the third term examinations.
